Excellent. Short of coming down there (would LOVE to, just couldn't afford it ), let me know how I can help. Be happy to try to run down information here if it'll help. My 25 year old ex-Benz tech KID has talked about moving there with a native friend, and he's a darned wizard (and I wouldn't have mine in if he hadn't helped), but that'll likely not happen in time for help
DO send pm's rather than post here so I see them, likely I'd miss 'em on this thread.

If you don't have the patience
to do it right the first time,
how is it you have the time to
do it over and over again?
There are many people who have "XE-R" projects. I would suggest you look for these threads, and start preparing your car as if you were going to drop an SR20DE into it. When the time comes, drop the VE in and proceed as if you were dropping it into an SE-R.
Or you could get an SE-R and make everything easier.
jerryeads.. thanks. will pm you if i have specific questions. if and when you'll visit tell and i'll show you around.
thanks taiden. willsearch for those "xe-r"projects. se-r's are 2door versions right? if they are, we never had those here in manila. or at least the local nissan never came out with it.
It'd make sense to add info like, which sensors need to be swapped from the DE, differences in gaskets, seals, etc. between the DE and VE. The VE ECU wiring diagram link doesn't work either.
In a B13 I the install should be similar to that of a B14 with the only exception being the wiring of the distributor and ignition coil. Hopefully someone will provide the specific wiring instructions for a B13 and we will append the FAQ.
Can anyone link me to that info? I am interested in the wiring info for the B13.
The wiring diagram in the first pic isn't working when i try to enlarge does anyone have the viewable diagram??
bump

Sorry to revive this thread but none of the links are working for wiring the distributor and the Picture for the VE Wiring diagram isn't showing either.
what kind of problems am i going to have with the ecu..im going from a sr20de to a sr20 ve..
any other problems i am going to have that you can think of?
did engine swap from ga16de to sr20ve, having trouble figuring out wiring, i was told to get a sr20de ecu and harness, already got it but having trouble figuring out some of it please help.......
I recently came into some cash and really want to know how reliable the VE is on a daily driver? Also for just a basic swap from DE to VE,what type of cost am I looking at total, doing my own labor?
I have seen the motors on EBAY for about $1000 to $1300,anyone know any reputable dealers on EBAY?I already have my stock ECU that I can use for Calum as well as a JWT ECU in the car now.
I don't think reliability is an issue AT ALL with VE's. And it's a great daily driver choice especially compared to a DE with cams, since you get a smooth idle & good low speed torque on the low cam (plus a MUCH quieter exhaust note), and a nice top end on the high cam.
The only absolutely necessary additional expense compared to a DE engine replacement is the cost of an ECU & your choice of cam switching electronics.
