I heard somewere that VVL has 3 levels. But you explain only 2 of them
Anyway you are the BEST!!!
3 levels of engagement. The intake side comes on earlier than the exhaust side. With the 20V they both engage at the same time this would mean there is only 2 levels. Eric is right with the early cars. I was just tring to explain many areas that were overlooked thats all.

A few questions on the 20v
1. Which side has 3 valves, Intake or Exhaust?
2. Being more complex, it will cost more, is it worth the extra $ for the 20v?
3. What year/models are a 20v?
4. How do I know thats what im getting, if the seller isn't 100% sure what it is?
5. Where is the best place to find one?

great info. what would cause both lash pads on the #2 exhaust valves to pop out? This happened to me and I couldn't understand why. What could I have done to prevent its re-occurence?
There should not be any adjustment. You can check lash to make sure it is in spec. I havent heard of people adjusting the lash from wear. You would have to adjust lash when the machine shop does a valve job.
Supercowboy:
Is lash adjusted by variable thickness shims like the DE head? Will the DE shims work with the VE?
Another question: I am interested in using the VE head, but class rules stipulate
variable valve timing and lift devices are illegal, although they can be used if the variable part is eliminated. Would it be possible to lock the rockers together so that it always uses the large cam profile?
