Hello everyone,
Since a little meet went down last year about this time, we decided to do it again. Since it was our first time last year, I have worked out with a few people some organized plans that are still in the making. We are looking to do this meet on May 18th. I would like to see a huge turnout as well as others would. The meet will happen in Meriden CT! It is located off of interstate 91 about 20 minutes smack in the middle from either New Haven or Hartford. I will have directions up on the post below this. The rain date for this day is may 25th. The plans of the day are as follows:
1) Picnic at Hubbard Park: This is where we met last year for those of you that went. Pretty much get to know other sr20 owners and hang out over some lunch!
2) Pictures at Castle Craig: This is a castle that sits a top a mountain at the park. On a clear day you can see Hartford from there which is 20 minutes north of meriden.
3) Indoor Go Kart: About 30 minutes from meriden is a indoor go kart track similar to F1 boston(if you are familiar with F1). I figure we get everyone to go on the track for some legal racing with evenly modified karts! This is where the sh*t talking begins and ends folks!
4) Dinner at Hooters: About 15 minutes from the track is the end of rt.15 in hartford. Just before the end is hooters. Have dinner and hang out there until the night at the pike starts.
5) Berlin Turnpike: This is a pretty big hang out car show type setting. It is about 3-5 miles long of just cars and people hanging out. I believe everyone will enjoy this part of the meet.
6) Hotel Information(Optional): If anyone is coming from a area that is too far to drive home late at night after a long day. I will get hotel information and if you would be interested in staying the night please let me know. I will be more than happy to help everyone out that is interested.
Thanks again for looking at this and I hope for a great turn out this year.
Directions from a few places, specify if you need further assistance:
From Boston area: Take 90 west to 84 west in CT. I am not sure about an exact exit number (Maybe exit 57) but get off of 84 and go to 91 south! Take exit 18 onto 691 west. take exit 4 off of 691 west. take a left at the end of the exit and the park is about a mile down on your left.
From New York City area: Take 95 north to 91 north! I am not sure what exit again(maybe in the 40's). But on 91 take exit 18 to the 691 ramp (Kinda confusing because it is intersecting rt. 15, int. 91, and int. 691. Just follow the signs to 691. Take exit 4 off of 691. Take a left at end of the exit and the park is a mile down the road to your left.
From West of CT: Take 84 East to exit (in the high 20's - low 30's) to 691 east. Take exit 4 off 691. Take a right at end of exit. About 3/4's of a mile on your left is the park.
From North of CT: Take Int. 91 south to exit 18(Int. 691) in CT. Take exit 4 off Int. 691 . Take a left at the end of the exit. And the park is about a mile down the road on your left!
I am sorry about not knowing exit numbers. I will be sure to get those updated as soon as possible. If anyone wants to look up directions on mapquest, the address is below:
Hubbard Park
??? west main st.
Meriden, CT 06450
Not sure what the exact number is but that will be updated as soon as possible also.
Hello,
I changed the date for the reason of weather and people in college getting out around that time. If anyone has a problem with this date please PM me or Email me at SR20SER@aol.com . Thanks again
Well everything is tentative at this moment! I am going to meet up with NyceP26 and we are going to talk over the plans for the meet and a definite date. I just put up this date to see if it worked and to set out a sort of time period for everyone! I might have finals also, so I am not sure either. But I will let everyone know of a date as soon as Peter and I get back from vacation and the convention. Good luck and thanks for the replies.

Well everyone,
It looks like there is a meet in CT at Craig's shop the day after the se-r meet. If everyone is interested in staying overnight to go to the sunday meet also, I can get hotel info for you. Just post here or PM me or even email me. Just let me know and I will get everything all set. Thanks again and I will keep you informed.
Everything is looking smooth for the meet. I spoke with Craig about both meets and they will be one right after the other. So make a weekend out of it everyone. If you are coming from out of state please post here and I will look into hotel information for you. Thanks again and I hope to see you there!
This meet is definate right, along with the go-kart racing ... I need to know so that I can tell my job I need the day off (I need to submit schedules a month in advance). Hey Mark, are you guys going to be doing any Turbo install work soon? my friend convinced me that if you and art are doing it together in one day (well maybe some things like drilling and tapping) that it would be very well worth it to drive out there even though it's a 4-hour drive... let me know I wanna be boosting already
Jose...
