Just bought a gtir engine for 750, came without a turbo, but that ok, already got a t28 on the engine. Im thinking about building it up with forged pistons, maybe cams and a bit of porting, then bolting it into the nx-r. Would like to get a bigger turbo aswell, but might have to wait and see what crops up. Friends of mine have just finished fitting a gtir engine to thier FWD Pulsar, with a t3 hybrid turbo @ 17psi, 550cc injectors, cams and extractor sytle headers, got 272kw atw. The car has run low 12's on street tires on the previous bb engine, which had around 200 atw with the same turbo (before it spat a rod), but slicks cant be run in street class here, so all the extra power will just make it harder to get off the line.
Sounds like a good plan!! that's a really cheap engine, even minus the turbo. Good luck with it. what's your time frame for building the GTiR engine?
That fwd GTi sounds completely nuts!! would love to see it smoke near on anything on the motorway! ...as you said, it'll just smoke up even more off the line!
u think u guys can help a fellow member out??....im lookin for a gti-r motor but in stuck in guam and no one would ship anything to me, so i was wonderin if anyone can help me out...
Already turbo'd, just upgrading to a gtir engine from a u12bb. Picked it up yesterday, has a run bearing, but sort of knew that before i bought it, will get the crank ground and crack tested. If its toast, I can get a 2nd hand crank in good cond for 150. I should be able to sell the bb engine as a complete pakage at the end of the process. As for time frame, well the car goes nuts at the moment, so no rush. I have a small vid of the gti on the strip, I;ll try and post it and place a link on here for you guys to have a look
Cool, you realy revived this thread from the dead! What sort of car are you putting it in? Are you on Nissanz.net? I'm actually considering putting in a 20ve at the mo, I only used the head off the gtir engine, as the crank was bust, and I havent bothered looking for another yet. But the head on a u12 bb turbo block is working well, last dyno was 223kw atw.
im looking for a gtir motor just the block i dont need the turbo or nothing or even the piston just the block can anyone help me or guide in somek kinda direction pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee
