For those who pulled this dash out, can you remove the top vinyl and replace this with a sheet of new? I bet you can do it yourself with the correct adhesive to attach the vinyl sheet and smooth this into the contours of the pad. I may try this instead of trying to paint the vinyl with that special coating. I have used it and it works OK, but with 10 years of armour all, it may not stick at all or absorb in.

I'm even wondering if that can be done with black suede or something? The only reason why I'd change to suede and NOT vinyl is because suede will actually reflect less. You'll end up with less glare on sunny days and the suede has a nice, matte finish to it, so it just needs to be wiped up with a lint roller to keep it fresh.

EEHHH not to drudge up an old thread but I had a questiong that deals with dashes. I need to replace my speedo cable and was wondering if I could just reach my hand up there and twist and pop it out, or just pop it out. Please let me know, thanks
I realize that no one is likely to read this and the number of people with NX's is probably very small however I am planning to pull my dash strip the cracked vinyl and upholster in in suede. If I get around to it soon I will post up pictures and let everyone know how it goes.
I'm still here with my black 92nx2000. Finally bought a house with a garage. Gonna take my NX out of storage where she has been since 06 and tear her completely apart and redo every inch of her this spring. Been painting all her interior pieces last few weeks. Definitely post pics of your redone dash. That'll be the last big interior project I will undertake in the next few months.
