Would NX1600 and NX2000's be in the same numbering sequence for the last 6 digits? The highest 1991 VIN is pretty close to the number posted for all NX's in 1991.
I'm pretty sure at this point they are intermingled in sequence (at least for North American cars). That would explain why we always see production figures that say "and X number where NX2000's". I noticed that high sequence number, as well. I'm guessing the total production numbers are somewhat accurate. Question is how many 2000's were produced. It's still unknown. I have an email out to Nissan Corporate inquiring about it. Doubt if I get a response. We'll see.

So far the NX2K I just picked up is the earliest VIN #. That makes it even more of a classic!
Something is wrong here. My VIN is 001045, prod date is 12/90.
