'k peeps, want some UK spanners thrown in the works?
The VIN: JN1HEAB13U0115911
10th character of my VIN is U, 11th is 0
The last 6 digits are 115911
My NX is a 100NX Pacific (limited edition) reg'd 08/95, so produced at some time in '95 but I don't know when.
About the VIN:
JN1 means Japan, Nissan.
HE has something to do with country - US ones should all be the same as each other, but different to this and the Aussie one posted in this thread which I think was HG. Various sources say the 3rd thru 9th characters are model-specific, but I wouldn't want to bank on it.
I don't know what the A is for (is everyone's 6th character A?)
B13 is (obviously) your chassis number - so the A could be padding for other manufacturers to put 4 character codes.
No idea what the U or 0 are for, but everyone seems to have a 0.
The last 6 digits are - as you rightly assumed - the serial number. But the rest of the information (I think) only specifies the vehicle down to the chassis number, so your VINs may very well be shared with other vehicles made at the same time on the same chassis. Therefore you cannot simply take the highest from the lowest and get the number of NXs
no deal, its time to make a race car outta it ryan
