I just bought a set of HIDs from the group buy for my NX and had a little trouble with the install. I plugged everything up and wham....nothing. I poked around at the wiring and found a solution. Here's step by step of what I did.
First I cut off the rubber grommet that came with the 4 wires going through it. This is not neccessary for the install.
This then separates the blue connector that you plug into your OEM plug. Here is what it looked like when I plugged it in and it didn't work.
I noticed that the red wire is in the middle for the OEM plug, but the HID plug had the blue positive wire on the outside....
I swapped them so that the blue would be in the middle and the black would be on the same side as the black on the OEM plug. I used this tool to push on the little tab inside the plug. You have to push down on the top little tab and gently pull on the wire from the back. You must use something sharp and strong like this tool to push down on the little tab on top of the metal plug. This pushes down a little tab and allows the wire to be pulled out the back.
This is what the wires looks like after the swap. Red=Blue and Black = Black
Do this to both sides and here is the final product.

Where did you hear this, I am in WA as well and considering this for my S-ER.
ive heard it from a handful of people. an old timer at baxters auto, a rice car drive at costless auto, my boss at fast1 motorsports, and some guys in random car clubs around vancouver..
as of today, non factory HID (you dont have a factory HID decal thing on the windshield) are illegal, any after market exhaust done AFTER today, that doesnt have 24" of tail pipe after the muffler is illegal.. smoked lights, and im sure you've heard of it being illegal to text/talk on the phone while driving now too !
everytime monday through friday i always see a car with purple headlights coming from gig harbor heading towards b-town...i mean you can EASILY pick it out from a parking lot of cars because of how purple the lights are.
i just ordered a set of 6k's....but im mostly a daytime driver, so the po-po can't catch me.

24" of tail pipe after the muffler is illegal? i don't get it? standard mufflers have maybe 3" to 6" of tail pipe, and some trucks have long ones?
if its stock, and doesnt have 24" of tail pipe, its legal.. but aftermarket exhaust that doesnt have 24", is illegal..
Do you really mean the muffler? or the catalytic converter...so your saying practically everyone that doesnt have 2 feet of pipe after the muffler its illegal?

so im guessing Kitsap Muffler is going to lose quite a bit of business or at least change ALL their mufflers..
