He is using a snap on wire feed welder. I am sure nick will post up the specs and a pic of it.
I also am stuck without a garage for now and my shop is like 20min away, it definately makes me less motivated. By the end of summer i will have my garage built even if the nx isnt running by then.
Nick what did you end up bowling tonight? I won the first game then lost the other 2. Your bro kurt bowled a 223 the last one, damn left handed cheaters LOL. Josh was throwing up when i left his house a while ago, he was damn drunk.
I did horrible 113 first game and 97 2nd but hey It does take a special kind of skill to jump lanes. Ya I know he was drunk, I picked Kurt up from his house around 3am and i'm guessing Kurt told you what happend to his keys that night.
Outstanding work so far. I dont speak for myself when I say I cant wait to see this done.
My only grip is the way you fabbed the rear subframe brackets. Wouldnt it have been easier if you had made your pie cut and bent the metal in so you could weld it back together? I was just kind of confused why you spread the cuts apart and filled them in. Not trying to nit pick sorry.

Now I started making my brackets for the rear. The driver side rail is straight but on the passenger side it curves. For the passenger side I cut a piece 8" long and then made 3 relief cuts in it to allow me to bend it.
Next I used a pry bar to bend it to the shape I wanted. Bend it a bit then check it with the frame rail and continue until it matches up.
Any how carry on

Yeah that was loud i thought you broke the pin setter. LOL Yeah he told me about his spare set of keys. If you need a hand this week just give me a call, i am still laid off. I thought of a couple of things for the rear end as far as stiffening it up.
I think i am just gonna throw my old de back into my car and put the new turbo set up on that. I have to get some of this debt paid off and not working isnt helping.

Ya you could do it that way to but it wouldn't be as rounded as it is doing it the other way. Also you have have to bend it then cut some more and continue until you reached the angle you wanted. I guess its which ever way you prefer to do it, both work.
The red hydraulic cart I was using to support the sub frame became all bent out of shape and was screwing me up. I'm using 2 jacks now to support it. Anyways I had to redo the two rear brackets since it actually had to sit lower then how I originally had it.
Here is one support bar and more two come.
Started on the front sub frame brackets.
I drilled a hole in the center of my bottom plate, then bolted it to the sub frame and built my sides off of it.

I was going to do a roll cage in the back half of the car but I don't have the funds to buy one or a good enough bender to make one. I will be making a rear strut bar which will tie into the sub frame/floor to help support and stiffen up the back alot.

Minor updates, worked on my rstb/support today. Did all my measurments and cut out my stb brackets.
I also added a couple more tools to my kill list since starting this project.
My chop saw is now dead and I broke a couple hole saws that were purchased today so they were replaced for free. Puts my total to 5 grinders, 1 chop saw and a couple hole saws so far.
