Color should just be black in my opinion. I doubt anyone will want any fancy color of tint.
don't know exactly where to find the law but the same goes for hawaii. no lower than 35% visibility all the way around. i think it's upwards of $250+ PER WINDOW for a violation.

thanks for the info. The tint thing is looking complex. I am going to try and figure something else out to where the flange will be covered so everyone can tint as they please. This is just going to get too complicated and scare away potential buyers LOL

ya otherwise just do the 35% so its legal. Can't they just do a strip of 5% tint on the outside to cover that up?

yeah they could but that would take alot of man hours on 15 hatches....and guess who pays for that

BTW.... Does anyone have a 3rd brake light laying around. I think the mold is getting close and they want to test fit the 3rd brake light. I cant seem to find my spare and I dont really want to tear apart my turbo car right now.

If someone could let me borrow one or donate it to the cause that would be great. It doesnt have to be working. Just no structural damage.

Or if theres one at a local junkyard let me know if you could get it for me/us.

Thanks!!!

3rd brake light isn't needed to drive around, is it? i wouldn't mind donating mine to get this thing going as long as i would get it back eventually.

and i can send it out as soon as i can get the thing off.

ok. I will let you guys know when its time.

In the meanwhile.

What do you guys think about deleting the 3rd brake light???

I think it would make the hatch look a little smoother and when installing it we wouldnt have to worry about running the harness all the way down into it. It would just be a quick and straight install.

There shouldnt be any legality issues since the 3rd brake light is optional/redundant

Any inputs on that?

I would love to have the 3rd brake light on mine. I know it would be as hassle with wiring and such, but I kinda like that little guy plust it retains some of the stock look.

I'm dowm to pre-pay aswell

X2 on no tint and yes to OEM stripe.

Thanks!

Why don't u make it a smooth hatch but make the markes on the inside so those that want to know where to drill the holes/cut in order to mount the 3rd brake light.

Its not so much the wiring hassle. It seems to be the molding hassle. The mold is bieng made and it seems to be very difficult to get the hole maed properly. Im waiting on the donor 3rd BL to arrive to test fit it.

I too want it to stay stock, but I think a smoothed out hatch would look good also. Especially for those that choose not to run a spoiler. I dont want something little like this to drive up costs, so Im gonna try to get it on there, but if not its gonna be smoothed out.

Well you cant make marks on the inside cause you cant get into the mold that way. Also, it would be a pretty complex hole to cut out since its recessed. As of now it looks more like its gonna be smoothed out.

great! After thinking about it I think its gonna look better that way and make it less compicated.

Good point
I believe it was 1986 that they started putting them(3rd brake lights) on cars by law from the factory.
I remember because I had a 85 mustang that had no third light brakelight and my friend bought a 86 and it came with one stock(in the spoiler). The cars were identical other than that, and the 86 was the first year for FI instead of a carburator,too....like you care.

Anyway,it may be illegal to not have a light in the car if it came factory with one...hmmmm
