right...theres 2 ways this can go.

If its a legal thing the cop is getting really nit-picky to even notice something like that on the NX. On the Sentra I can see, but you can barely see it on the NX, but I'll play along...law is law...

However, one must keep in mind that these parts and any other CF parts are for "Off-Road" use only...

So if we have to sacrifice the 3rd brakelight to make this happen, its a minor price to pay.

I will be talking to the fab guys tomorrow about this.

My push is to get it on there. If it is just too difficult to where it will cause issues (cracks/deformation, etc) or drive up the cost, its gonna have to go.

Id rather swap a hatch out real quick to clear a fix-a-ticket than pay more money for this part....

leave out the light. it will make the rear very clean. add the no spoiler it itll look very smooth and well thought out.

the cops are NEVER going to say hey weres your third break light, especially when the pulled you over for loud exhaust and flashy rims...

If not having a 3rd light is an issue, you can add a custom one. There are 1,000 different aftermarket options for brake lights. Just a quick ebay search I ran into this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Way...Q5fAccessories

You can also find led strips etc.

not sure that one in particular would fit...maybe a sentra but not an NX lol. BUt yeah theres tons of options an LED strip or something like that would actually look cooler IMHO.

Anyways, Im talkin to the guy tomorrow and we'll see what happens.

Now this is something I may hve to save for! I have always wanted one ever since John got the VIS hood. He wanted the CF hatch to go with it and got me hooked. I have thought about doing it since I got the car. Very cool!

no pics as of yet.

The plan thus far is going to be as follows.

The hatch will be made completely smooth. No holes on the exterior ANYWHERE.
All of the interior mounting and fucntional points will still be there so with that said, we will provide a template for making the cutout for the brake light and the spoiler holes will be super easy to drill and we will provide a template for that too. If youre not good enough with a drill or dremel to do this kind of simple modification, odds are you shouldnt be working on cars anyway and you'll screw up the initial install anyway j/k!!! haha
But seriously, I think this is the best way to do it to produce the highest quality part. Those who want the 3rd brakelight and spoiler will have to make minor mods. I myself am keeping my spoiler, but I will gladly get rid of my 3rd brakelight LOL. and probably do a custom LED one which will look way better than the stock strip thats faded and scratched anyway LOL

As far as the window goes, I am going to ditch the tint idea, again because we cant seem to concede. So the window will just have a solid black strip the width of the moutning flange like a stock window would. I still dont know how this will affect cost, but hopefully not. I just gotta be super nice to the fab guys.

Anyway, thats it as of now. I'll be calling next week to get an update on the mold. I gotta get cracking on getting the window seals too. Anybody have a hookup with OEM Nissan parts? My guy keeps forgetting to get back to me...

I would really like one of these, but I dont know if I can get the $ together.
I guess I will see how it goes.I have spent too much on the car lately...gotta get back to some bills

I was wondering, why not make a CF spoiler, too while you are at it?

well you can start saving now and by the time its done you may be close. I can also do a payment plan of some sort if youre interested. Like lay-away or something.

I thought about the spoiler. But the spoiler is already really light and people either like it or hate it. So a.) itd be a waste of material and cost since it wont save any weight and cost would outweigh appearence factor and b.) sales would be 50/50 on it at best.
The spoiler would be easy to cover in carbon fiber type vynil or have worked up like your carbon fiber paint job you did on your interior stuff and be just as light.

You know what I just realized? I have a roof spoiler *hint* I figured I would just throw it out there, not that you don't have enough on your plate already just a thought...
