Alright this is the deal guys, i'm currently in a 2 year Metal Fabrication/Welding program at my local Technical College so I have access to all there equipment (laser, water jet, roller, shear, press, brake, welders, saws, tube bender, maybe some cnc's etc...) Anyways while I have access to all this stuff I might as well design and produce some parts for are cars. I have a bunch of stuff I have to do for my classes before I can go nuts on side projects but hopefully it won't take to long (hoping to start side projects in November).
Now the reason i'm telling you guys this is because I want your input on what parts I should try designing and then making for are cars. I should be able to do almost anything out of steel for now and maybe stainless or aluminum later depending on how well I become at welding those materials. Forget about strut bars and parts that companies already make, give me ideas for parts that aren't out there yet that could be useful.
you can get just the rail adapter for like $30 online (out of aluminum). Im not going to try making a crank pulley or something like that. I don't want to take the chance of making one and having it off balanced and someone using it. Other then that keep the ideas coming.
Radiator diversion pannel similar to the one you have but possibly out of a thicker material.

bolt in tube bumper. the metal part. so people can run a functional metal bumper AND a larger intercooler. would be pretty easy to make too. i thought about doing it for a long time but got rid of my egg
some sort t top brace. for racing with the t tops off while still trying to eliminate body flex. mainly autox because im unsure of the rules in road racing. i also thought of doing this but im pretty sure there is no where to bolt one in.
for people that relocate their batteries: bolt in battery tray
sheet metal door panels.. also thought about doing this for the longest time
sheet metal radio bezel area thinger. (cant think of the tech term) but the area around the radio down to the ashtray/cig lighter. mainly for peopple that race and could use the space for gauges switches instead of a radio/cupholder would be easy to make, and easy to install with 3m tape.
juuuuust some ideas. all fairly simple to build.
and just because im curious, if you choose not to answer so be it: how old are you? what tech school are you going too? what experience do you already have?
ps: your NX is inspirational!

might be able to but you would have to eliminate ur front subframe and do alot of modifing so it will probably be pointless for me to make engine mount brackets that no one will probably want because of the amount of work involved to do a rwd swap.
A rear brake caliper adapter to utilize a 84/85 300zx 11.4 solid rear disc redrilled to 4x100 pattern. that way i can source a cheap 40$ rotor, redrill it, and get bigger brakes for our gti-r's. Instead of paying through the nose for an oem rear disc thats double the price.
Also possibly an exhaust manifold flange spacer that pushes the turbo out for clearance for larger turbo's.
A gti-r crossmember where the tubes sit farther forward for more clearance for downpipes.
A 4 pt front lower crossmember where the bars go over a 3Inch downpipe instead of below it for ground clearance
A rear lower subframe/rear diff cover/panel to improve airflow
One last thing custom hubcentric spacer/ring. say a 5mm spacer thats hubcentric with hubcentric ring extension. say 59.1 inner diameter, 5mm thick spacer, 5mm protrusion with a 73mm outside diameter

does the b13ser has front subframe? i dont think so. i know about the cross-member.

very cool.
i was just curious because the fab work put into your nx looked top notch!

wheel spacers?
buy some
as for GTIR parts, i have a feeling its a no go. i have a feeling he is looking to make NX/B13 parts. seeing as thats what he prolly has to work with
