Taking the mystery out of how to take the NX bumper off.
Basically take all the nuts and bolts that are highlighted on the picture.
Take the four screw that is highlighted.
Driver's side
Passenger side
From underneath the car - driver side
From underneath the car - passender side
Take off any screw you see holding the inner liner. (I think I have most of 'em circled). Some screw's are made of plastics! You can take off ALL the screws holding the inner liner with a phillips screwdriver. Some you will not see the cross for the phillips but they are there.
Please see note on the picture
Once you are able to take the inner liner off, you will see four studs holding the bumper to the fender by nuts. On the passenger side you will have to take off the windshield reservoir first to have access to the four studs holding the bumper to the fender. On the driver side you'll need to remove the resonator box if you haven't already taken it out to install a CAI or something.
Once you completed the steps above you now should be able to pull off the bumper/whole front nose. REMEMBER: to take off your headlight, fog lights, and side marker connections!!!

-Steve's bolt diagram didn't point out the one screw that is on the bottom of the splash shield, under the rear of the fender. You can only see it by laying on the ground and looking up at the bottom rear of the fender. Phillips head screw.

It's easier to have the whole nose off or the way I described it above. By leaving the bumper support on and just pulling the bumper cover off, you will have to deal with 10 year old bolts that holds the cover to the bumper support that WILL break off. I believe there are 9 bolts all together. Plus, there are two bolts hidden on each side behind the fog lights so you will have to take off the fog lights as well.
My way you just deal with the two bolts that hold the bumper support and the whole nose comes off. Really... it's easier to leave everything in tact and take those bolts I circled off.

Very cool.. wish I'd known about removing the bumper support before, now I have about4 broken bolts I have to figure how to mount back when I finalize the FMIC and front end setup.
You dont necessarily need to take the fender lining out. I didn't. I also only have 2 bolts, and some screws holding the bumper on. I end up taking that thing off every few months to either put an intercooler on, or take it off, so I dont bother putting all the nuts back on. lol
Edit: I normally take the bumper cover off, I left the actual bumper support off to fit the intercooler.
Just so I can throw my two cents in, its a lot easier to just remove the fenders with the bumper too, thats if you can get all the bolts loose down by where GP was talking about the hidden screw. Lates!

I just pulled it off this morning, but you forgot 2 things:
1) there are 2 nuts holding the air dam thingy to the fender a few inches below the side marker
2) there are about 3-4 fasteners holding the bumper cover to the beam that the radiator rests on - I just pried them w/ a flathead
also, one more tip for those that remove their fogs: don't mess w/ the 3 10mm bolts holding it to the supports that are spot welded to the bumper, just grab a hammer and chisel (not a wood chisel) and chisel out the supports - it'll be a lot quicker and be a couple ounce weight reduction
all in all, though, this is a great sticky!
edit: looking at the washer fluid resevoir, the rear wiper pump would be great for an intercooler sprayer
WOO
Thanks for this - a job I need to do myself soon, after some bint in a people carrier (MPV) swerved in front of me.
Damage to my NX = £100 ($180)
Damage to her MPV = £1170 ($2100!!!!)
Well, if I could say one thing about the NX, it would be that it's a pretty sturdy little beast.
Just did this today, would have been totally in the dark if it wasnt for this write up. Thanks. I just want to add that all of this is necessary just to pull the headlights - total bullsh*t. Alot of work for 2 freakin lights.
