distributor

i belive my distributer went bad. anyone know if the gti-r one is the same a reguler de i have a gti-r and am looking to swap the distributer but natrually the gti-r parts are harde to come by in teh US

I don't think it is.... A buddy of mine tried to replace his recently with a DE one and we couldn't get enough adjustment on the timing to bring it in. I think the DET is about 20 degrees more advanced than the DE one and the timing disk is physically in a different position. It will fit and work, but even with the dizzy turned all the way to the end of the adjustment it was still about 10 degrees out.

I could be wrong though....

If your car is a RNN14, you'll be fine.
Look at the shop manual how to install and set timing.

It worked for a buddy on another canadian forum (thus, canadian nissan dealership).

Will confirm for you, but I will get these parts too for my R. --- CONFIRMED.

I have used the 54C dizzy on my USDM DE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. My DE felt more responsive when I ran the 54C dizzy.
