The Nissan dealer here just puts an order through to Nissan Canada. They can get anything from Japan, just that there is a no return policy on them. Usually takes 2-3 weeks to bring it in.

The windshiled, clip, and molding all came from japan, i just supplied them the part number.

and i will add a US parts number for something a lot of you guys may want:

the air conditioning unit is a lot of weight off of the front end if you get rid of it. i think that after i removed everything off the block and out of the dash it weighed out to about 40 lbs! however, if you decide to get rid of the A/C you will need a smaller diameter belt. the belt you need can be found at napa. it is a gates brand belt: gates part #K050330. it is a 5 rib belt one rib less than the standard one. but you wont have the a/c compressor anymore so its ok. i have been running this belt for 2 years with no probs. now go out and get rid of that A/C!

windshield 72712 60c01
upper windshield molding 72752 50c00
clip 83610 50c00

i paid roughly 770$ canadian, inclusive of sales taxes. so take off about 13.5%
i bought this before i made a friend who worked in nissan parts, so i could have got it for much less.

i felt the price was worth it anyways, as they bore the burdon of risk of shipping.

i can source glass for roughly 250$ canadian in japan, its not oem, but aftermarket china made glass. however, the cost of shipping and risk involved easily exceeds the cost of what i paid through nissan.

if someone wants to arrange getting stock of this glass i can put u in touch with the supplier. however, you'll have to speak japanese and convince him to ship overseas. or if you know a vehicle importer you can put it into a container.

-- another part
rear quarter window handle/latch 83610 50c00

the spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor can be sourced off a 90-94 Infiniti g20

i can see why in alaska u wouldnt need a/c... but for 40lbs, i think its worth keeping. the car makes plenty of power and torque, however im not tracking the car like u possibly. it's my daily driver and im getting old enough to the point where a stripped out all out racer is no longer cool nor livable.

i would rather move the battery and replace it with a lightweight drycell to the trunk and the washer bottle to the trunk. Plus it would help out the sh*tty weight distribution and make space for a fmic, in my opinion. 12lbs for the bottle and motor, 40lbs for the battery. plus the battery sits up high and right at the front, and the washerbottle sits way up front.

i've compressed all my part numbers into a single post, which would be post number 2. lets try to keep them in one spot, or create a faq for this gti-r forum

Not that i think you would BS me . I guess i should have asked if you have actually used the p10 windshield in the RNN14. I understand you said it will fit but i need to be clear before i drop $ on something based upon here say or actual experience.
Many give advice and input based on just what they hear and not what they "know" from hands /1st hand experience. Appreciate help.
