Dropping the Gas tank

Hey sup people,

My gas tank has been leaking since i bought my R last month. Anyways i fixed a partial leak, (the hose connecting the area where you pour gas to the gas tank itself) but there's another leak at the top of the tank.

Has anyone dropped the gas tank before? If so can you give me some pointers.

Yes I've dropped mine a couple of times, It's pretty easy but you need to drop the rear subframe to get it out.

Their is four big bolts that hold the subframe on the car, You will also need to disconnect the hand brake cables from the bottom of the subframe and from the calipers.

What I did was to drop the rear struts along with the hubs drive shafts and the rear diff as one unit, You will have to either undo the brake lines from the calipers or take the calipers off and hang them up out of the way.

Once you've done all that you can pull the whole assembly from under the car, It's then just a matter of undoing the two straps that hold up the tank and the fuel filler neck rubber hose.

Oh and don't forget to unplug the ABS wires if you have ABS of cause.

And I had better add that of cause you will need to support the rear of the car with axle stands, You can use the jacking points on the sills to mount the stands, I thought I had better add that because you're a yank and not renowned for your common sense hahahahahaha
