Engine bay

...for pic hores (aka CanadianR)
Here you go !

For the intake pipe, just get:
2" 45 alu pipe
2" 45 silicone piece
3" to 2" silicone reducer (for 300zx MAF)

Since the stock turbo is 2" housing... I didn't fancy a 3" pipe and taper piece to reduce the diameter nicely....

Cheers,

Yep, all is good so far with the R !

Can't wait to try it this year at Calabogie (Aug 29) with the oil cooler now installed ... and I'll be adding a surge tank just next to the oil filter, hence the big empty gap

excellent. What have you done for the need of the z32 air flow meter?
Did you need to retune any of the ecu or ?
Good looking engine bay. Where did you get your oil cooler and relocation kit, and does it come with a thermostat built in?
Looks pretty good under there.

For the MAF:
- rewire the connector (make sure you get the plug with your N62 MAF)
- retune the ECU so it reads/interprets the voltage output correctly (daughterboard installed in your OE ecu + program the 2 eeproms)
I can hook you up with an awesome guy in Montreal for this (you ship your ECU, he does the work and you get it back in a few weeks...)

Oil cooler comes from http://www.batinc.net/
They are the MOCAL distributor in America. Talk to Peter (peter@batinc.net)
- not cheap but quality bits (lines, 10-row cooler and thermostat were about 500$ total)
- get the MOCAL oil relocation, not the cheap one (45$ instead of 25$) like I did. Other then that, Peter even shipped me a second gasket to resolve a leak issue.... great service.
- yes I got the thermostat built in the sandwich plate (always a bit opened, but fully opens around 85 degres C )

Any other questions I'd be glad to help, as always
Cheers,

hmm the z32 afm and tune via montreal sounds pretty good. What sort of rates does he charge?

I'll check, usually around 500 for a quick run on his Dynapack (to fine tuned the maps on your car), but in this case, might be lower. Will check into it.

PS: he can probably load my map on your ECU (I spent 4hrs on the awd dyno last summer...). So this is like a freebie

Hum, bad news...
Robin (from Almasi Tuning) said that even if he loads my map onto your ECU, most likely your 300zx MAF will be a little different than mine... calibration I guess. I.e. my map can run 11.9 a/f full boost and that same map can run 12.9 on your car or even leaner.

So, he discourage shipping a map for a car he didn't see ! On the other hand, if you have access to a wideband meter, then he could load 2-3 maps and you could select the one that runs good for you.

If you need more info or anything, I'll give you his email.
Cheers,
