EGR/ Rear O2 delete...

At first, I had assumed that in my county, I have to do emissions testing, two speed idle style. Turns out, they just do the OBD2 plug n play now. What I'd like to do, is remove the rear O2 sensor from the program, as well as the EGR function. (I'd still like to retain the EGR components, though, for physical inspection purposes.)

Question on the Rear O2 though...

If I remove that, do I still need to switch the wires on the harness of my 98 SE-R to accept the 3 wire O2 mod for the rear O2?

Also, in removing the EGR from the ECU, would it really be worthwhile, if I still physically have the parts there?

Any assistance is appreciated.

Cliff

To answer your questions...

I believe turning it off completely disables it as if it was not there. I don't believe you will have to even go as far as re-wiring it.

I would just do a block off plate from NIssport for the EGR. I have passed inspection with it since the plates look stockish. It doesn't hurt to turn it off and pull the codes via the consult mode to double check that they won't trip when you go in for the OBD2 scan.

Hope this helps.

Cheers-
Erich

Thanks Erich.

Still bumping, need the adr info for egr delete and rear o2 delete.

Calum, need to know if removing the rear o2 is going to require me to do the wire mod for the 95~97 ecu in a 98 shell.

Thanks again

There's not an address for EGR and rear O2 delete. You have to wire in a resistor on the connector. To get rid of the EGR, redo the vacuum lines on the solenoid and leave it plugged in. Use a Nissport kit to get rid of the rear of the stuff. Look in my gallery for the diagrams on how to redo the lines.

Ah, thanks Eric. I was under the impression, that when Calum had the rear o2 delete or the egr delete, that it was done programming wise, not hard wired.

Thanks again. Will look into your stuff
