can i use nissan datascan to change values permanently

Hey guys! i need some help. i have a nx2000. i'm putting in a sr20ve neo vvl. i have two ecu's at moment. the stock one (b13) and one that has been upgraded by E-formance for de motors. I been reading up on calum's ecu. interested in ***0t. but at the moment i wish to know if i ordered the nissan datascan with the cable that plugs in the diagnostic port and the laptop, would i be able to change ie: air fuel mixture permanently? i know i can monitor pretty much all readings and it say i can change base values while driving, can this be done permanently without a calum upgrade? (not that i don't want to get it, but money is tight at moment). i would try with the e formance b13 ecu first.

Well, the best setup is a Calum Realtime, but definitely read more before jumping into tuning your car.
