Description: Jim Wolf Technologies' S3 cams are the most mild they offer, yet still provide significant horsepower and torque gains. They retain a stock-like idle with or without the ECU program (though the ECU does improve drivability across the rpm spectrum). The S3 cams offer the widest power and torque curves of all JWT cams. Along with the S4's, they do not need the spring upgrade required of the more agressive C-series cams.
Keywords: camshaft cams lobes intake exhaust duration lift curve
Available for: B13, B14, B15 & SR20DET

Pros: Maximum gain with minimum pain
Cons: none

JWT S3 CAMS

Performance: Cams are usally involve a trade and one that is not in your favor. Want more power up high? You're gonna have to trade-in the power you've got down low or visa versa. The S3 grinds from JWT are a perfect cam compromise. Stock SR20's are known for their low end torque and that quality is not lost after installing S3's. Average power loss below 4400rpm is around 1hp, while an average of 6hp is gained above that mark. Now that's my kind of trade ratio. Six for me and one for you. What these figures ultimately mean to the driver is that his/her SR20 will continue to express the characteristics that lured you to it in the first place. A wide powerband more indicative of a six or eight rather than a peaky four.

Installation: Relatively easy for the experienced mechanic, especially using the installation help information which can be found in this forum. 2-4hrs.

Aesthetics: Stealthy, especially with JWT's ECU smooth idle.
