Unfortunately, it appears I will miss Hyperfest; my wife and I have a two week vacation planned around the Indy F1 weeked (July 2) and a reunion in Texas (July 10-13). I may try hitting another SPR event, but if the requirement is for three events prior I'll miss the Mid-Ohio weekend...ah, well... - GA

maybe you can get that extra race in up at a NE nasa event?
or come do the VIR enduro weekend in feb, usually they run a sprint race sat then the enduro sun, race the nx2000 sat, run the enduro as a co-driver for someone, race one weekend at summit and boom, you have your 3 races in ;-)
(we need some more quick cars for nationals from the east coast (or maybe some quick cars in addition to my slow car ;-)
Love VIR. Absolutely love driving there. The problem is that VIR is an eleven-hour tow each way, adding two days off work and considerable expense. 'Bout the only way I'd consider driving there would be to fly in and rent a car... - GA
I LOVE VIR also. Especially North Course. Greg, are you doing HPDEs or Series racing?

Until Nationals all but CMP for me and probably Summit after Nationals.

And that is great news about the addition of those events at those tracks in the Northeast. Limerock Park, Watkins Glen and Pocono I can not wait!!!!!!

They say "complete schedule to drivers and racers" so I'm guessing you'll finally get some NASA NE races.
I am friends with Joe who owns PDA (NASA NE) if I get a chance next week I'll stop down the shop and see if there are any plans I can announce publicly.

Peanuthead - typically, races only. I'll do the HPDEs if I need the testing time, but given they're crammed in between race sessions that would be tough.
Mike, a fine consideration! Given that airlines are trying their damndest to go out of business by charging far too little for fares, I'd love to fly over some time and run a race with you guys. Let me know when you've got a hole available and I'd love to come out. - Greg
OK, I'll be the a$$ and throw this out for consideration.
What's the early consensus that maybe they will waive (or reduce) the minimum entry requirements to make sure they get plenty of cars the first year? They will want to make sure they have full fields and perhaps the early enthusiasm shown so far for this event may not follow thru with big numbers of entries when summer rolls around. There's a lot of long-distance towing involved for a whole lot of people. If they want more than just HC and AI cars showing up (which seems to be the bread-and-butter of the Indiana/Ohio region) they may need to loosen things up. My uneducated estimate is that they are pulling less than 4 cars per class locally (and that's with big SM and HC4 turnouts at the top of the curve). Do you really want to see (or compete in) a bunch of race with only 15 cars in them?
Unless the Indiana/Ohio region has another one of their (what I feel was very popular) 4-race-per-weekend events like they did this past fall (or maybe count starts in 2005 towards the 2006 entry?), I can pretty much guarantee that I will not have 5 starts. I'd certainly love to make it to the event as a field filler (more so to just be able meet and BS with other SR drivers).

Sorry, but this will not happen.
You can't change the requirements from one year to next- you might end up with fewer cars year two, and then it looks like your event is shrinking.

I'll let you know. Probably mid to early summer. How is your night vision?
