Cost of a 4 pt. roll bar?

What seems to be the going price range for a simple 4pt. DOM weld in cage with a harness bar? (For HPDE with the possibility of higher competition)

About $1100-1200 for a custom properly made one. You get what you pay for.

I'd suggest Stampers in Richmond (on Midlothian Turnpike); they did the 4-point in mine 3 years ago for $400. According to several people I autocross with (who know a lot more than I about such things), the welding and fabrication was top-notch. I have a pic somewhere, if you want to see it.

in VA the bets your going to find from my opinion is Piper Motorsports, but they charge about what Mike quoted for just a 4 point, but talk about quality, they have a great reputation on the east coast with SCCA racers more than anything.

I don't think it can be a DOM, tight fitting, 360 degree welded part with good contoured to the floor and tied into the frame rail mounting plates for that price.

A good 4 point takes 2-3 days of labor to do.

$400 probably gets you something you put in the bed of your truck to put your lights on or the equvilent of an Autopower bar.

Mike, are you thinking the Autopower or Kirk bars are not worth what they are?

I hear nothing but good things about piper from all the NASA guys. Seems like everyone I talk to recommends them for cages.

Just curious, why not a full 6pt? If you're eventually going to do more with it, save yourself and your fabricator the headache of adding onto an existing 4 point...

Only if you have a car where you might want to take the bar out one day.

Ive been there and seen their work. Top notch people, and VERY knowledgeable.

Ster, this one ^ is up in NoVA. Probably a little farther than you want to drive/trailer your car I'm assuming?

I don't mind trailering it up there if they do good work. I really think in the end I will just go with an Autopower or Kirk bar. At least I can resell it if I decide to go further on with the car in the next 3-5 years.

I'd go with the Kirk. They fit alot tighter and are alot beefier than the Autopower.

A friend of mine just had a cage put in his SE-R at Piper. It took them less than two weeks to do the whole thing! Great quality work!

Wade knows whats up with Piper, they do good/great work, but cost effective is always hard on some people who cant spend $2500 on a full cage. So a more inexpensive cage is found or needs to be found for some.

The website is www.kirkracing.com

I think I am going to go with the Kirk uncoated and get it powdercoated locally.
