I've done a bit of autocrossing with my 200, but thats been my only motorsport experience. I absolutely love it though.
Today i woke up early and drove out to Summit Point to watch my neighbor particpate in a trackday with the Mercedes Benz Club of America. I was only expecting to sit in on the drivers meeting, and then do some hard core spectating.
Fortunately my neighbor introduced me to a friend who offered me a ride in his car, running in the advanced group.
We ran on the main course. the car i rode in was a 91 integra Gsr. He had blown the B17 the week before and had installed a B16A2 that was completely stock. We we're running with some high horsepower cars including a C5, M3, a few 944 turbos, and my neighbor's 190E. The 'teg really held its own. After about 4 laps we got passed on the front straight by the vette, the M3, and a 944 turbo S, but man did that car stick in the turns.
I'll blame it on the 6 hours of sleep ive gotten over the last 4 nights, or not eating breakfast, but when i got out of the car afterwards i felt like i was floating.
I am now saving every penny to participate in the driving school with my lil 93hp monster. I'll also be scouring this forum for as much info as possible to help improve the learning curve for when i get on the track w/ an instructor.
Cant wait!
Following my neighbor.
He's put a lot of love into his ride
The car i got to ride in.
If you're at summit point this summer and you see a really slow white 200sx. Thats me. I'll be the one waving you by.
