i saw this and want to put them on street car. do you think the warning about shaving them is valid or you can just mount em up and go like an RA-1?

dude don't put them on a street car. Says not to use it on the street. They don't last. Comp tires have only a certain amount of heat cycles available. Plus the rubber is softer. Wears out way faster.

Hey man thanks for the heads up. I was gonna go with some Hankooks but this a great price for this tire. I might pick up some 14's.

i know they wont last. in fact im hoping for it (the stickier the better). ive gone through multiple sets of rt-615s averaging about six to seven thousand miles and have been contemplating stepping it up a notch. my sentra is only driven on mountain roads and my miata takes the daily duty.

I've seen people do it, but I wouldn't recommend it either. R compounds tend to take a set when they're left sitting on the car, so they'll go out of round after sitting overnight. They also pick up a lot of debris, which can quickly build up and cover the entire tread surface on the street. Keep that hacksaw blade handy.

If that doesn't bother you, I would actually say, "don't bother shaving them". You'll never get them hot enough to screw up the tread in that way. I'd just get them heat cycled for longevity and find a tyre shop that can mount them properly.

For those of you who went on the site only to discover that the 195/55R14 size were sold out, the Kumho Victoracer V700s in 205/55R14 are also on closeout:

Makes me wonder though, what's going on with Kumho? I hope it's that they're coming out with a new line of R compounds or something, and that they aren't dropping their smaller sizes.
