You could see the SR20 powah on the start and the straights. Those crx's are monsters in the turns.
So Mr. Amy are you going for it again next year or is it time for a new platform? What improvements did those honda guys make? I remember reading about last year how you had a really good battle with a crx. I'm curious what kinda of changes those crx guys made for this year.
I was watching the action from turn 10. I did enjoy watching the race. ITA ,ITB ITC , and FE were the best races that weekend. I missed the Spec Miata race so I'm not sure if that one was a good.

I think the repave had a lot to do with the speed of the CRXs. They really could put the power down early to get through the turns. Before the pavement would upset the balance on the cars from what I could tell.
Steve
Greg, the car should stay planted thru 12 at full tilt boogie. It does indeed take a brave heart to do it. Took Marc quite a while in the S2 to get there (quite a while ago now), and he's doing easily another 10 knots. Next trip, take it up over 5-6 laps during quals. As I know you all know, you aim for the end of the shed coming over the hill as you can't see the damned track. That does not alleviate the shriveling of the scrotum, however.
Do pay attention to how many cycles are on your tires, however. I'm used to Marc having fresh donuts on sunday (toasted once during qual), but he runs only goodyears on that 1340 lb toy. I'm not used to how the other brands wear.

It helps when you start by going into the corners damn-ass slow!!!
(Just kidding. He was entering the corners medium-ass slow.)
(OK, just kidding again. Kinda.)
(No, seriously; just kidding.)
(Really.)
(Yes, really.)
OK now your confusing me. First you tell me I am going into the corners to fast, now your telling me I am going to slow. Jeez make up your mind.

No commitments at this time. I could go full-out with the enduro efforts (Conover Motorsports), I could run the NX, or I've got a couple other options. Right now I want to stop thinking about racing for a short while...

The biggest change this year was the track surface at Road Atlanta. They repaved the place; while I thought it might help me a lot it didn't. Unfortunately, it allowed those lightweight "momentum" cars to keep up their momentum even more.
The battle last year was with this year's winner, Joe Moser. I had him totally covered last year; not this year. This time he walked the field and hid...
Also - I don't know if you guys know this - we blew up third gear at Mid-Ohio earlier in the summer (literally stripped the teeth right off both gears). I tossed around the idea of building another transaxle with the 4.437 final drive and clutch diff, but for the sake of time and motivation I chose instead to buy a brandy-new transaxle from Nissan. So, we ran the ARRC with the stock 4.176 final drive and stock viscous diff. I don't think it *really* killed us that bad, but in hindsight I think that was the wrong way to go...

Thank, Jerry; I'm just messin' with Joe's feeble brain. I usually go through T12 flat-foot; in fact, after driving that track for almost 20 years I no longer find it that daunting. Sometimes, however, I have to lift slightly on entry to get the pig to turn in to the inside apex, otherwise I run out of track on the exit (and that ain't a good place to do that...) - Greg
Cool Cool. Well if there is a 08 effort I'll be there checking it out. Was definitely good racing going on during that race.

Japan. It's the stock final drive for the JDM RS5F32V "mountain transmission", used in the Lucinos with the SR16VE engine. We bought a couple sets back in late 2002 and found they bolt right into our US-spec RS5F32V transaxles.
Are you in the Nissan Grassroots Motorsports program? If so, you can order it directly through them; part numbers are 32241-2N509 and 38101-2N509. Don't be in a hurry, though; orders for JDM parts are usually a 2-3 month time frame.
I also understand Greg Vogel at GSpec performance (http://www.gspec.com) may be stocking these as well.
all we knew Steve, you were pulling consistent lap after lap times...enough for us to say "watch his lap times and see how fast he goes" almost everytime we went out
Agricultural racing is rarely a good idea (preferable to tagging an idiot) - Only once seen a fellow bite the wall after 12. Many take a few years off their life wiggling along the grass, ***. I'm sure I'd not want to try it.
