The easiest way to get the EC Cup is to finish your car- I believe Eric Rosen is already running in SR class (from PS2) in the VA region.
From my experience with WC Cup, that's the biggest hurdle to overcome- getting cars finished.
I've been talking with tpeele and he's volunteered for now to be the point person for SE-R Cup, so I suggest you PM him and tell him you're interested. I've had a couple of people email me and ask questions I can't answer, like where's a good place to get a custom cage built, etc. Any EC guys want to recommend cage builders?
Also, you EC guys will need to establish an official series dyno; any thoughts on that? We use the same place that hosts SoCal SERCA Dyno Days, so we can usually go at a cheaper rate during one of those.

To be honest Ive never been to his shop and I dont think he has a website. Ive seen two cars that have had their cars done by Mitch and they are both extremely high quality. Barry Brown (showroom stock b15 around here) has a cage in his car done by mitch. I plan on getting mine done from him too.

Well, it sounds like he knows Nissans and NASA rules, which is always a big head start. If you can get contact info, I'm sure others would be interested.
In Roanoke Virginia my friend Jeff Underwood at www.mid-atlanticconcepts.com is building cages now. In Raleigh, NC you can contact Chris Schimmel at www.competition-cages.com . They both do good work for reasonable money.
Matthew Protos. He builds by far the best cages. He is located in Boonsboro, MD. 25+ years building GT1 cars from scratch. He does carbon fiber work as well. I've seen many a Mitch Piper cage. His work is good, Mr. Protos' work is by far better. I'm not trying to incite the wrathe of you Piper fans, I'm just speaking the truth.
I'd also like to see an ammendment to the SE-R cup rules for cage design. NASA allows for the cage to tie in the front strut towers through the firewall, yet the Cup rules don't (SE-R cup is a NASA sanctioned event, see the irony)Honda Challenge allows it. I don't want an inferior cage design just to meet SR cup rules. Nor do I want to race SRX because I incorporate the towers in my cage. Will the EC cup even exist?
I have two Se-r's now I guess I could make one an Se-r cup series car.

i would be willing to put my vote to go with that.

Honda challange carrys a hefty weight penalty for tieing in the cage like this, I bleive its 100 lbs or something. If we allowed that, it would make the cage signficantly more expensive.
We do allow two additonal braces to extend to the firewall at any place and we do allow a triangulated strut tower brace. With a little careful thinking, you can make the car nearl as stiff as if it had a fully tied in cage.
Hey, I wanna get in on the EC SE-R cup! I'm going to have a track car in the future, and would like to run in the EC SE-R Cup series. I'm a road course n00b, but I would still like to run when the car is done.
