It would be great to see the SE-R cup program become active on the east coast. If anyone could provide a location to obtain some hard information on east coast activities it would be most appreciated. I have checked the NASA-VA, NASA-SE and NASA-Ohio sites and none contain any indication that the SE-R cup (east) is a reality.

Blair,
Are you hinting that East Coast SE-R Cup will be a recognised entity in the NASA-VA region (similar to ECHC?) If so could you point me in the direction of the series coordinator/sponsor. I crew with one of the Nissans running Pro Sedan in that region and haven't heard anything via the NASA-VA staff that a SE-R classification will exist in 2004.
I can't remember who the series director is going to be, but there should be a handful of us running SE-R Cup on the east coast next year. SE-R Cup is a national NASA class, so I don't think it has to be "recognized" by NASA-VA. I think Cobetto and the rest of the NASA-VA officials will succumb to brute force anyway if they don't let us play in our own class.

As far as I know, SE-R cup is now a recognized class for NASA-VA. I know of at least three SE-Rs that will be participating in 2004 (myself, Pat, and Stephen Harper). Other than that, it is up in the air. How many more of you guys are close to getting a car ready AND have an approved racing license? It would be nice to see more than three cars among the countless hondas in small bore.
Happy Holidays!

EC Cup is a reality. Tim Peele (tpeele on this board) has volunteered to be point person, but there's no series director yet.
Maybe you EC guys could schedule a meeting or something? Then we can post info and stuff here and on the SE-R Cup site.
Well guys, it looks like my racing will be very limited next year. The raise that I was promised didn't happen . If I'm lucky I'll be able to get the car ready and get my license at the VIR summer race. The car is almost ready. It still needs the t-tops replaced, the cutoff switch, and window net. I'm still shopping for a tow vehicle if anybody knows of a good deal. You may want to elect a new point person given my limited schedule. Maybe someone who will be running all of the races next year. It sounds like you will be able to register in SE-R cup anyway. When the turnout gets large enough then we can start worrying about points, sponsors, decals etc.

I would offer my assistance, but I only plan to attend the summer race as of this point, assuming the car will be done by then. I wish I could take more of a lead role, but would still like to assist somehow (as much as one can assist without attending all the events). Rest assured that were I still single, I'd be on it like Michael Jackson and sleepovers!

You were able to sign up for SE-R Cup at the November 01-02 Summit Point event. It was a class listed on the on-line registration and I expect it will be throughout 2004.

tim if youwant a cheap tow vehicle in the nissan family, i am sellingmy 1996 nissan pathfinder that i have towed w/ for 3 years for $3000 obo
So what's the scoop on this? Is SE-R Cup a reality on the East Coast this year? If so, verify that all races listed as "Sprints" will allow SE-R Cup entries?
Finally, who is planning on attending which races? If I'm going to make the tow down there, I'd like to know I won't be alone...

Entries for the SE-R Cup have been accepted since last year in the VA region. I'm sure all the regions will continue to accept Cup entries since there's no reason to turn racers away.
Now, will anyone sign up for it is a better question. An organized, sponsored points season? Probably not.
NASA is not too strong down here in Florida yet so I will continue racing with the SCCA for now. I would love to get together with all of the SE-R racers for at least one event this year be it NASA or SCCA. It would not be cost effective for me to try to run in the cup series if all of the races take place north of Georgia. But if we could plan one race this season that everyone could put on their schedules, that would be awesome! Maybe a one race cup, a SE-R runoffs if you will.
Maybe at VIR or something?
Anyone? Lets have some fun!

I will definitely be at the VIR event running SER cup, and probably at at least 1/2 the SER cup events (and eric rosen will be doing likewise)...so make the trip from florida for VIR, and Greg if you want to coordinate a date or two at summit, then i will make sure myself and Eric rosen are there (and maybe pat griffith as well ) so we would have 4 SER cups cars racing at the same time
