My car left for WVa this morning, being trailered down by a friend. Barring some kind of national or personal tragedy, I'll see you guys Friday night at the earliest.
Can I get some cellphone numbers for attendees, so I can get a bit of hand-holding through tech and other procedures? Mine's 203.209.1217. I see they've set up a specific area for us to park.
Greg, I am getting there late friday night..my cell is 804-467-4200 (although I don't always get reception at summit..
when you get there friday, look for a 2500 4 door chevy sliverado dark blue with a matching dark blue 24 foot enclosed trailer...that is Eric Rosen's trailer, the other SER Cup car signed up that i know of, he should be there early friday to clear out a few spot for the 3? SER cup guys? (i don't know of any other signed up.....i should be rolling in about 11:00 friday night......
I would be glad to help if i can w/ tech if you have any problems, as long as you have your scca logbook in hand you should be good to go (and your NASA/scca license for you......ie. go to tech/registration (the covered areas by the classroom at summit, show them logbook, get tech sticker, then you should get everything else you need at the all hands meeting the next morning.
see you friday/saturday

I'll also be there in my green 200sx se-r. I'll be instructing all weekend but will be glad to help anyone out if I can. I should be there around 7:00 on Friday.

Let's see.. yes, there are just the three SE-R Cup entries. Greg, Eric and Stephen. Besides Wade in HPDE4 there's a couple running a white 240SX in HPDE2 and HPDE3 and then a guy in a white SE-R in HPDE 3.
If you guys get a chance, evangelize to the HPDE'ers.
Also, someone keep track of laptime. Does NASA-VA post to Mylaps.com?
My cell number is 703-589-5988. I will do my best to make it. Grega, are you racing? I wont be and am pretty good with a camera. I shoot with a Cannon Rebel G. Not the best SLR, but not bad. What time does the action start on saturday? I wont be there friday, and am not sure if I can get there really early on saturday.
I will be racing, both Saturday and Sunday (there is no racing on Friday.) Schedule is at the link Eric posted above (it's the same both days.) SE-R Cup cars will be parked right near the tech sheds, so come on by and say "hello"!
I will be arriving between 6 - 8pm on Friday. As Stephen mentioned, I will be in a dark blue Chevy 2500HD pulling a 26' dark blue box on wheels. You shouldn't be able to miss it. We will try and do our best to reserve some space for any other Sentra people. However, it sounds like it is going to be pretty crowded. Feel free to come on by anytime. Looking forward to a great weekend!
I will be there and was hoping to get some track time in on the Hyperdrive with my 91 but the Master Cylinder took a dump today , but I will be there to meet everyone.
Wow, I got burned. Next time I'll remember to bring my sunblock. Overall it was alot of fun. Hyperfest is a pretty cool event with alot of things going on. Unfortunatly, there was some bad news for one of the se-r's. During the qualifying round one of the them blew an engine. I will let him tell the story. I got a ton of pictures too, probably about 4 rolls. Tommorow I'll develop them and burn them to a CD.
Mike, is there an email address I can send the pictures too? Also, what exactly are you looking for in a writeup?
I stopped by on Sunday. Ran across 2 Classics parked in front of a Blue enclosed trailer (one blue, one black). There were two legs sticking out from under the blue one, with a frustrated looking dude up top looking into the engine bay. I figured it would be best to just smile and say hello, and be on my way without much small talk. I stopped back a little later to find out when the SER-Cup race was and talked to someone with a white classic. I got the skinny on the blue car and what time the race was. Not sure who you were, but thanks. I also saw a red NX 2K. That car rocked during the cup race btw. That was all I saw in the paddock. But there was a teal 200sx in HPDE-3 and a forrest green B15 in the Cup race. Both seemed to have decent drivers. The 200 seemed fast in the HPDE-3 and the B15 drove a good line from T5 - T9 (all I could see) even when being bullied by a miata or 2.
I hope this generates some more interest in the SER Cup. There needs to be a bigger field to add a little more excitement to the race in my opinion. It's nice to see our cars properly classed to be competitve, now we just need to get people out there racing - myself included.
Well about this weekend. I can say the weather was great...The company was great...and that's about it... Saturday morning, had the car ready to go. I got out on the track for the morning practice, completed one lap and came in. The car had fuel issues ( I didn't fill the damn tank!, We had a late night thanks to our good friend Stephen Harper!) So that session was a wash. Next session, full tank and all, started qualifying. After about two laps the car wasn't really making much power. It was handling well, but not really putting out much. Coming down the front straight on lap 3 after completing two somewhat slow 1:33:00 laps, the motor completely let go in a pretty spectacular smoke fest. I couldn't see anything. I have the video which I will post. I managed to pull the car off at the end of turn 1, exited the vehicle, and proceeded to sit and watch as the EV crew put out the few hotspots under the engine bay. So my weekend consisted of four laps - very disappointing to say the least. VIR is in three weeks. SR20VE here we come!
It was nice to meet Mike (mpg9999) and Greg Amy. Guys, we need more SE-Rs out there. Freaking Honda Challenge has 40 car fields!
