SCC has a nice article on Tony's very clean cup car. To bad it was not finished when the pictures were taken.
A few people that drove this car say it is very fast! Too bad he doesn't come out more often, he's getting to be a better driver and a really nice guy to boot.

I am convinced that this is currently the fastest cup car. I only drove it once and the very first time I drove it, I put it on the pole on an unfamilier track, its a fast good handling car.
I'm curious.. what makes this car so much faster than the other cup cars?
I built it from the ground up to the limit of the rules with few compromises as far as cost. Only one area of the cage can be improved which I didnt do because the rules for this area were unclear at the time.
The only other compromise is some more weight could be taken out and the car ballasted out, we chose to run a passenger seat and run full strength bumpers and leave in one door beam instead.
I am convinced that this is currently the fastest cup car.
For now! But Tony's got to come race first!
Just wait until the "rebirth of Egg". Plus, I've got a special weapon: As du Volante Sheening Lin! (That's Driving Ace for you cretin that don't play Mille Bornes.)
We'll smoke you guys at Willow with that big rice wing you've got. (Ahem, that's if the car is ready )

Put Sheening in that car and he will be unbeatable. Its super fast and reliable, I can go 3-4 seconds a lap faster than Tony in it and Sheenings faster than me.
Or give me some money and I'll build you guys a car that will be very fast.

Too bad Sheening races in my car and Tony in yours! You can build a car, but you can't build a driver. At our last joint race, I was 1 sec slower than Sheening, so that's still faster than you!

If I had money I wouldn't be doing it myself! I think you'll appreciate the quality and attention to detail in the car when it is finished.
Let's see... you built part/all/most of Tom's, yours, Tony's, plus the other 2 or 3 cars you have... I think you've built enough cars yourself to have a Kojima Cup series

If i was good at building drivers, I would be faster. Plus my car isnt a proud example of what I do, its still a thrown together, too heavy, too flexy to wrong in the suspension pile.
Tom has the record of building the most cup cars, his, goos, John lindsey's, plus helping most everyone else at one time or another.
I think Tom and I have our next mission imposible, fixing Jareds car into something approching relaibilty.

Yeah, but that can be said for the rest of the field of cars as well. Who knows how fast we'd go if we all went in on a car

Or Andris. I know at one time he'd built a part of each Cup car.

Oiy! Let me know when you try- I'll bring my sawzall and join the party. I like your triage analogy of his car "Let's move on to something we can save. There's nothing I can do for this one."
It just shows how much difference a good driver makes... he motivated that jalopy around Willow to a lap record!
I think it still needs to have the cage painted... but I do have some body work tools now so we can fix that rear quarter damage.
