I thought cams were illegal in ITS?

Hey, racing ain't cheap. A good header can help, but the thing that will probably help you the most is reading all the millions of posts on the forums here.

Re: New ITS SE-R owner in midwest

Aftermarket cams are indeed illegal in IT.

Before you get frustrated with being in ITS, bear in mind that the only thing keeping the SE-R from moving to ITA for next year is a vote from the SCCA Board of Directors. The recommendation from the IT Advisory Committee (on which I serve) has been accepted by the club racing board and placed before the BOD.

The SE-R should be a good car for ITA next year. Don't make any mods out of frustration with being in ITS.

BTW, what is your name? I come across people from time to time who would like to get an into to SCCA club racing and if someone is in your area I can direct them to you.

Not to mention that you can't cross polenate between the classes. Either you run a true SR class car or run an unadulterated ITS car, yo ucan't cherrypick the best of both sets of rules.

E-mail john lindsey about the mid ohio race.

New to Indy? Where else are you running?
I'm prepping my '92 for next year. I'm building to IT rules but will run NASA as well. NASA runs at Putnam Park as well, just a short drive west of Indy. Their next race weekend is in October.

Re: New ITS SE-R owner in midwest

Yo. This is the John Lindsey that Mike mentions above. You should have no problem getting the license taken care of for the Mid-Ohio race as you can just submit your SCCA license along with the required forms to the NASA National office. See www.nasaproracing.com and look up the Comp License application under the "forms" section. Man, if you can make it MO that will make my weekend as I was going to be the lone cowboy in SR for the races! If you need anything else, e-mail me at jlindsey-at-drivenasa.com (use the @ instead of -at-). Hot damn, we got ourselves an auto-mobile race!

Re: New ITS SE-R owner in midwest

What kind of crew are you looking for? I'm not an expert mechanic by any means but am always willing to help out and learn. Only thing is I'm not sure how I would get to the races seeing as how I live in St. Louis.
