FYI: FIA seat homologations voided

The following FIA homologations have been voided, so if you have one of these seats it must have a proper seatback brace per the rules.

Homologation# Manufacturer Model
CS.992.00 Corbeau Seats Forza
CS.053.02 Corbeau Seats Sprint
CS.993.00 Corbeau Seats Pro Series
CS.994.00 Corbeau Seats Revolution
CS.980.99 Cobra Seats Monaco
CS.972.99 Ektor Runner 2000
CS.912.98 Kingdragon Master VTR

If you have one of these seats with a different homologation number, then you'll be ok still.

NASA sent out an email to all officials and regions. I believe the source of the voided homologation numbers is the Sept 2004 SCCA Fastrack News.

Re: FYI: FIA seat homologations voided

did they increase the requirements? or, did they just find out those seats are unacceptable?

I think the homologation is just good for a certain number of years. I'm pretty sure they didn't increase the standard since the expemption is still the same.

Re: FYI: FIA seat homologations voided

My understanding is the the FIA randomly retests homologations. The recall of homologation supposedly comes from this.
