That was an outdated news article. It referred to a specific request I made very early this year, requesting our cars to move, because I suspected the pending proposals would be denied.
In a nutshell, the IT Advisory Committee proposed that "Performance Competition Adjustments" be approved, giving the Comp Board the authority to adjust weights on cars to reign in the big dogs and give the lap dogs something to chew on. They also proposed that if PCAs were approved, that the NX2000 and SE-R (among others) should be dropped down to ITA with a slight weight addition (2490 for the SE-R, 2515 for the NX).
Given my cynicism, I fired off one of my biannual reclassification requests, and that's the denial you saw reprinted in GRM. In fact, as I recall, the CompBoard rejected my request citing the pending approvals of PCAs.
So, to wrap this up, the ITAC proposed PCAs and the reclassifying of some cars (ours included) and referred it to the SCCA Board of Directors for their August meeting. That meeting was held the last week of August, and while SCCA will not give out an official notice until Fastrack is published, *all* back-door rumors/indications are that PCAs and reclassifications were approved at this August meeting (as well as approval for all to run 15" wheels!)
Granted, it ain't official, but NO ONE is saying they were denied, and several high-up sources are hinting very strongly that they were approved. Even my cynical meter is slowly winding down... GA
