I think if everyone puts their info together we will have all the addresses, I kinda think its more like someone has this and someoen has that.

How you go about finding them? I read on the Z forums that you use similar known good addresses form other Nissan ecu's, then test them on what ever ecu your trying to decode.

Is there another way?

well i had to make my own as no-one else had, all i do (and am still doing for parts) is have a good collection of roms and address files, and look at values for other cars, and just use common sense to figure stuff out, then try it on my board when i get time.

i have a good collection of different roms (7 in fact! ) from different k11 models, see where they differ and figure out what the map is.

a big help was getting a tuned version of my rom, and comparing them to see what they altered, then figuring out what it was.

you should be able to see what the fuel maps, timing maps are just by looking through the hex (or, and its a bit drawn out, is to copy the hex, put it in excel, and convert it to dec, and look for stuff that looks right)

thats my way anyway, im trying to learn assembly to get a better idea of things too.

bin file

the only thing that appears correct in your addr file is the speed limit and the high/low ignition and fuel maps and vq map.
none of the other addresses seem to make sense.
i have been useing hex editor and remap 3000 to try and make sense of the bin file.
any help would be most welcome

bi file

sorry calum,
didn`t mean it to sound like that, in fact you need to be congratulated for the effort you put into these forums.
i was really just stating the obvious and hoping that someone else might pick up the ball and run with this.
finding the rest of the address points for these vvl engines is long overdue.
keep up the good work.

hi, can i get some help with this.

first, am i right in thinking the entire map uses feedback? i've not seen any other rom like this,

also rev limits
sr16ve - 8200
sr20ve - 7200

is this confirmed? i think this is model dependant on what i can see. many roms on the same engine but different models on other nissans have different rev limits etc.

also cam change points? 5600 and 6700?

and injector size? 340cc/min rings a bell?

thanks

hi pete,
cam change over points are
sr16ve =6600/6700
sr20ve =5600/6700

injector size is 330cc
i definately think your`e right about the feedback control, except when the vvl activates, it goes really rich.
i have seen a few dyno runs and the all go rich at vvl.
how do you find the k value etc.
some of the maps are easy to find, calum has already found some.
im still working on this as well as time permits.
it would be nice if you could help as i am a bit of a newbie at this, im teaching myself as im going, learning alot.
the more i learn, the more i want to know.
thanks pete,

bazza

update - the fuel maps are targetted a/f ratio maps - the ecu runs ve maps as well to bring the targetted af maps into line
still dont know how to change the vvl points properly
got it tuneable - but want to change vvl points in the rom and not have to use an rpm switch...
*sigh* back to hacking the rom
