No no, he's cool. This is a very experienced driver in a very well developed car, he realizes this happens. This is not a novice, this is a very well built car with lots of history. He's actually working on tuning his own ecu and was just using the base rom I shipped his ecu with.
I put this up here because I really want ecu tuning to be a community effort. Part of that means learning from mistakes as well as successes. You've gotta break eggs to make an omelette. I figured it was a matter of time before someone blew their engine, I just thought it would be a VE or more likley a DET that would let loose first. The DEs are a hard nut to crack.
I think I'm better off by making as many details about ecu tuning public, thats why I started posting all this stuff in the first place and developing daughter boards. I think hoarding information and tuning in a vacuum is kind of a waste of time, especially on a 15 year-old car with no real market. Not that I don't have a bad habit of hoarding hard-earned secrets, but thats something I try not to do too much.
