T28 550cc MAF recomendation.....

So my plans for my KA24DE have changed. And I need some advice.

Originally I was going to use a T25 with 370cc injectors and a SR20DE maf (from a OBDI G20), and an de-pollution controlled KA24DE intake manifold. Then use the U12's .bin file as a base for tuning (since U12's have no pollution control).

And now....

The other day I enherited a mint condition S14 T28 (in which I have to give the T25 back and probably another $50).

So my plan is to use the T28, with 550cc injectors, but, now Im stuck on which MAF and .bin to use.

The obvious choice is to use a Z32/J30 MAF. Alter the U12 K value for 550's, then import the Z32 VQ map, and adjust the K value again for the MAF which is 2.2x the size of the G20/U12/B13 MAF.

The other option, which Im not sure is possible, is to use the KA24DE's bin file, and use dual KA24DE MAF's with a "dummy" maf (which I already have 2 in my possesion). I assume this is what Devin meant by running "dual MAF's". With this option, there now guessing how much extra air is comming in since they both flow the same amount of air. And Im thinking I might be able to mount them both to the same filter...an LS1 style filter (oblong shaped).

In my case this is the dual set up would be the cheapest alternative, and, according to Devin has the potential to give a more accurate K value.

So what do you think? Go with the Z? or dual set up?

what ecu are you using? I f you are using a ka24de then you would have to use a bin file for the ka24de as I don't think the u12 is even close to the same. As far as the dual maf thing goes there is no need or even gain to be had by doing this on a single turbo motor.

The KA24DE address file is the same as the U12's. So, all the maps are in the same location in the ECU. All the sensors *should* read the same voltage.....other than the MAF....which is why I would have to use a SR20DE MAF instead of my KA MAF. So yes there different in the way there written, but, it can run my KA24DE with some minor tweaking....even if it involves sourcing out some SR20 sensors.

The reason why I would use the U12 setup is that its would elimintate a lot of mess trying to make my own "K" value for the KA24DE MAF running 370cc injectors.....

With 550cc's and a T28 my stock MAF = dead. Im not sure how much it flows, but, I know the T28 will kill it.

So, running dual MAF's, side by side, on the same filter running to a single pipe (with only one hooked up...aka....a dummy maf) would allow me to flow twice as much air (in theory).

In order to do this, I would need to double the "K" value to adjust for the extra air (since having a second maf will flow exactly twice as much air as the stock MAF setup). Atleast this is how I understand it. And is also why I asked this question to begin with....just incase Im way off base.
