I hate Willem Programmers

This is what I have to do in order to delete the SST chips. I just don't understand it that well.

SST Chip (27SF256/512/010/020/040)
(37VF512/010/020/040)

1. Cut trace PCB U5A(pin 12) to ZIF32(pin 26) and add part figure. 1
2. Settting Vpp ~= 12.75V (diode dorp 0.7V) Real voltage to taget chip = 12.75-0.7 = 12.05V
3. Run program Eprom.exe
4. Put CHIP SST27SFxxx
5. Select Device SST27SFxxx
6. Short JPx (close)
7. Click Icon Erase (It will Erase and check blank)
8. Move JPx (open)
9. Check Blank again
10. Load DATA
11. Click Icon Program
12. End

I'll join the Willem hate club too. They're ok if your broke and have time to spend fiddling with them, but if your time is worth anything they suck.

If your content to stick with just one or two types of eeproms the Moates Burn1 is really really good, thats why I ship all my dbs with roms it can work with. Its the only burner I've ever used that was up and burning succesfully 5 minutes after I bought it. The case is a little cheesy, but I can live with that.

I had my willems up and running within 5-10 minutes. And had never even seen a burner before. I have only burned 27C256's with it, but have had no problems.

Like others have said the Willems can take some fiddling to get it to work. I was always annoyed with the voltage drop problems I had programming some 28cxxx parts.
