To knock or not to knock

I'm just wondering, since we're able to basically cancel out the knock sensor function withing the programming, are we able to just disconnect the sensor completely from the harness?? TIA.

I'm pretty sure we still need to keep the knock sensor plugged in, we are not deleting the knock sensor code. We are just telling the ecu not to *look* at the sensors input on the main maps

My point exactly, if it's not *looking* at it, what's the need for it to be there. You know?

Well, it will still give you a code... And I suspect that if you get a KS code that the ecu will switch to the knock maps.

There are other knock maps so the ecu might freak out. Give it a shot. set your low octane maps to make the car fall on its face and then unplug the knock sensor. It may not even go into the low octane maps.

Already tested it. No problems whatsoever so far.
