Can you read chips with the Moates Burn1?

I just got the Moates Burn1 and can't seem to find anything to confirm how/if/directions on just reading chips. I have OEM chips for my Firebird (one with the stock 350 TPI program and one with the stock 305 TPI program) and just wanted to read them to eventually burn a custom chip. That and of course just reading the chips from the CalumECU in my SE-R. If anybody has some tips I'd appreciate it!

Pat

Sorry to get off topic, but is there a way to encrypt the data of the chips so not everybody can read them? TIA

On those two boards I sent you there is - if you're interested talk to fast-track on the ECU2 forum. You just break one of the traces and use his scrambling software to encrypt. It's not very strong encryption, but it works.

If you have a disassembly of the stock code you could also disable the serial routine that grabs code, so at least no one could copy from the consult port.
