Well,
I tried using my new consult box (new version board). I am using Conzult freeware and calumsult. I managed to get this wroking on a friend's 92 SE-R. However I cannot get it to recognize my 94 and my brother's 93.5 G20. I this a common issue?
I tried updating COM port drivers and playing with the software and such to accomadate for ports. No such luck. Anyone with tips or insight? Please chime in.

Former '94 SE-R w/ VE owner....made Chriscar a deal he couldn't refuse. "Relax, alright? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I CAN FIX IT."
It should be the same as the PLMS one I think.
There's a list of applications on their site. Here's the US ones:
# US 300Z Z32 (VG30DETT)
# US Sentra B13 SE-R(SR20DE)
# US NX2000 (SR20DE)
# US NX1600(GA16DE)
# US '94 Sentra B13 (GA16DE)
# US Maxima A32 (VQ30DE)
# US '93 Altima (KA24DE) http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/consult_if.htm
"As a rule if your car has the grey Consult connector (you'll usually find it near the fusebox) then it will probably work. One car we've heard of that DOESN'T have the Consult port is the A31 Cefiro - so if you've got one of these babies you best check the connector."
Well both cars ('94 se-r/93.5 G20) have the grey connector in the fusebox they plug right in. Both cars are OBD 1 I assume. The '94 se-r was a low port even before the VE swap and the 93.5 G was originally highport but now has a recently swapped JDM 10:1 (still highport). Just for kicks, I tried it on a neighbor's 95 maxima (Cefiro) which also plugs in fine but no recognition.
Well, on all the cars in which it plugs into, one led is always on. (I believe it was the Green one or was it the red one??) I do know that when the consult does work, the Yellow LED is on too. On the cars in whichit didnt work, the yellow LED very faintly blinks as soon as you click a command on the software (Idle adjustment mode in Conzult etc.) Also, it will show the ECU model # on the software if it recognizes it. Obviously doesn't do this on the cars it doesnt sync with.
I don't think it's the cable because i tried it on both my 91 SE-R and 96 SE-R and they both work fine. I also tried it on a 99 G20, and it DIDN'T work.
Did you get it working....just curious? And if so, could you please explain. Thanks
