No rev limiter on 92 SER ecu??...

I am running a 92 SER ECU in my 99 SEL my greddy informeter stopped reading at 7400 RPMS from the ECU though I continued accellerating until 76** RPMS.. That was when I started to wonder if there was even a rev limiter in place?

I read this post http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread....20de+rev+limit and found out that the Rev limiter should be at 6800 RPMS... I have seen other post indicating a 7650 RPM rev limit... This ECU has no daughterboard installed, so it is evident that this is a factory map.

I am pretty clueless as to why I did not recieve a reading higher than 7400 (the informeter will read up to 12000) from the ECU which leads me to believe that I have reached the end of the fuel and ignition map??

Can someone elaborate a little on technical side of the 92 SER ecu .. or point me in the right direction...(( I searched ))...
Thanks.

Well tomorrow I will try taking it up higher .. If what I am reading is correct from the link in my previous post, the ECU reads RPMs in increments of 50 which would have been the reason it displayed exactly 7400 RPMs peak from the moment I released throttle .. if this is corrrect, and I do have a 7650 fuel cut or rev limiter, my tach would be off by more than 200 RPMs in the higher rpm range.

Comparing my S-AFC reading to my gauge reading shows it to be off by +200 at idle, and as much as +500 at the high end.

Yay, 16 year-old air-core instruments. *sigh*

Not on the forum much lately since neck injury - we'll be back at it soon, babying the n00bies.

JWT S4, HS 6, Home Depot Intake, Hypercoil 2s w/ KYB "GR-Poo", CF Sunroof Delete panel, and other crap - where's my interior?
