ok to start off i just got mt calum chipped ecu back. every thing works great with the tune etc. the issues i am having is with the consult port on the car not the one calum put on my ecu. i no longer can connect my mdm to the consult port with out getting errors. this normaly wouldnt be bad expt i use the mdm for my tach and temp.i removed the temp guage from the cluster for a fp guage and my tach is about 200-400 rpms off. is there any fix to this with out having tgo have myt laptop with me all the time? next question is a really newb one. i am using calumzult software were or how do i get the car into timing mode with it. any help would be great .

If you have a daughterboard with consult you CANNOT use any other consult device unless you disable the consult circuit on the daughterboard!

To do this, open the ecu and unplug the 4-pin connector. Do NOT connect a consult device to the car without doing this.

The little consult daughterboard is a consult device. You can't have two consult devices plugged in at the same time.

Sorry if this wasn't clear.

On the tach, I think your out of luck, but I've never taken apart a gauge cluster.

Download the freeware version of ConZult (I did not write this). When you've got the pc talking to the ecu, do the active test 'idle adjust mode', or called something like that. That is timing mode.

To bump the idle you really should adjust the target idle map in the ecu. Do you have a rom burner yet?

Btw, how does the car run?
