I had a b14 daughterboard installed by Calum. ECU is a 1996 automatic OBDII Infiniti G20 ecu part #A18 C55 F16.
Car is a 1999 automatic Infiniti G20 with a U13 bluebird SR20DET
Wiring harness, TPS, distributor, knock sensor, front o2 sensor, IACV and transmission are all from the stock 99 SR20DE motor.
The problem is, the car is acting as if it has a manual ECU. When put into D from P, N or R, the car gets into gear very hard. Also, with it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear, it shifts very hard and sometimes chirps the tires. 2nd to 3rd is not as harsh, but somewhat noticable. 3rd to 4th shifts ok, but doesn't shift til later on in the RPMs.
The shift schedule seems to be:
1st-2nd gear: 2250 RPMs
2nd-3rd gear: 2500 RPMs
3rd-4th gear: 4000 RPMs
Also, the car will not downshift no matter what throttle position you are in. So if you are @ WOT, it will shift at the same schedule as above.
Here's the weird part, we put in a 1994 auto chip (C41 program) and started the car and drove it around the block. It shifted as if you were in any automatic car, none of the symptoms listed above. It shifted fine, and we thought, problem solved so we bolted the ECU back in. HOWEVER, the next day, the car drove the same, and had the same symptoms.
I am think it's gotta be ECU related, however, there may be other possibilities as well. We have checked the tranny fluid and it is at the proper level. Another thing is the speedometer doesn't work. We checked the VSS, and it is plugged in, and wasn't touched during the swap. Anyone have any insight? This is very frustrating
