U12 / GTiR Oxygen sensor question
I'm doing some work on a forum members' B13 running a BlueBird engine, U12 ecu, and skinny oxy sensor.
It seems that the skinny sensors put out a much different signal than the fat ones, and the various Consult-like apps don't read it correctly.
Running NissanDataScan software, on a cold car, at idle, the o2 reading starts high, and falls to 0 as it heats up. When driving the car on the road, it'll jump radically up to 100 and back to 0.
All the US spec & JWT OBD1 B13's I've worked on with the fat o2 sensors will have a much smoother variation in output. I had this same issue on a GTiR ecu'd B13 over the summer.
So does anyone know how to check for proper operation of a skinny sensor? Also, it'd be a good idea for these Consult programs to have a setting to switch between the two types of sensor.
