Reason: ECU part number
When I mean does the enginer rev past 3k, I mean when you apply the gas.
Yes, I can gain enough speed to get the engine past 3k. But no passing gear!
Is your check engine light on? Fans run all the time?
No check engine. Fans go on & off as normal..
You have this problem with the original OEM bin? Nope.. Passing gear, 3k without problem and smooth shifting.. Burned chips with OEM bin and tested it in your ECU, Same problems... Im starting to think that maybe its a problem with the daughterboard.
It sounds like your not. Let me explain- the 27SF512s actually have twice the space needed. I've setup the daughterboard to use the upper half (this makes them backwards compatible with 256 type chips). So if you don't set the chip starting value for 8000 and leave it at the default of your buring your programs on the lower half, or in other words not doing anything. You can do a gut check that what your burning is really working by setting the ecu to have a low rev limiter (like 2k), then driving the car and verifying that the rev limiter is indeed set at 2k.
I double checked the Flash & Burn settings that I used to burn Scotty's chips. They match exactly the settings in post #15 above. I have used these same settings to burn about 50 chips that work fine in my car.
Use your OEM bin, set a rev limiter at 3k, and verify you are indeed burning the chips correctly. The daughterboard doesn't change the operation of the ecu, the program you burn on the daughterboard does. It either works or it doesn't. Btw, feel free to give me a call this evening. I know I've got your number buried somewhere in my e-mail, but its probably quicker for you to call me.
