NA program or help wanted.

I am looking for a little realtime tutorial and also a program. Going to have to run the B13 NA for awhile while I wait for my downpipe to get made. I want to run 370cc injectors to make the turbo install quicker and the N60 MAF because the harness has that plug.

Hey Ben I got your e-mail. You should be able to just run the N60/370-4bar program. It will be much richer at WOT and the timing is conservative, but it should run just fine.

This is what I would do-

Load the turbo program your going to use. Download the latest CalumSult hack adds TP streaming to logged data (I'll post a how-to to use this with a B13/S13 bin this evening or this weekend). Do some WOT pulls and log your TP. This will come in really handy when you turbo the car as it makes adjusting the fuel/timing maps for the transition between NA and under boost much easier (you know exactly where the transition point is from your datalogs).

Make sense?

Hey thanks Calum. Thanks a lot. I know you get my email it was yesterday. I appreciate you getting back to me so fast though. I may have to load the old program.

If the timing is conservatively mapped it will be really sh*tty on the bottom end. Remember when you helped me out by pulling a bunch of timing out below the tq peak? It was about 3 months ago.

Well it is running nicely on the turbo .bin you wrote for the 10:1. Should I swap over the program Setzer posted since its a 9.5:1 motor? Going to go shake out the bugs tonight. What should I set timing and fuel pressure at? If I am thinking correctly I should advance the timing and knock back the fuel pressure. Possibly will borrow a wideband for some sotp tuning. I may be running na for awhile and it is going to the dyno next week. TIA.

I set it up with the distro all the way turned and about 2psi dialed out on the Nismo fpr. Seems to run nice but just really slow as it winds out. Next step is to reload the program it had originally or Setzers .bin which is in the other thread in this section. Going to dyno next weekend just for yucks. This is on a regular 9.5 JDM DE.

Have you got a wideband?

In a nutshell this is what you need to do- map trace and watch where your TP range is under WOT. You can do this with either Nissan DataScan or I can setup CalumSult to log this. Then look at what column pair that corresponds to on your fuel/timing maps. Then load a stock DE bin and write down the timing values at each rpm on the timing map (I say write down rather than using the compare function because the RPM scales are slightly different). Now open your current bin and change the pair of columns your operating in to match the stock DE values. The fuel map is similar, but thats quicker to just adjust and watch the wideband. Shoot for high 12s.

That make sense? If you need help I'll be free Saturday evening.

Thanks man. I have access to a wideband. I'll talk to them about what kind tonight but I believe it will be an LC-1.

It makes some sense. I'll go through all your faqs and mess around a bit. I'll get it. thanks again.

Well at the dyno we did about ten pulls. We used the 4-bar/N60/370 program Setzer posted for me a few months back because it had the most aggressive timing map.

Here is the base pull and final.

We only had time to dink with the primary fuel map. You can see the improvement was substantial.

Tbh a more computer Saavy individual did most of the dinking in Tuner Pro. He had never used Emutility, TP or a RT ECU before and he was pretty impressed.

Thanks again man.

Ok so here are the two .bins. The car was dyno'ed and made the 138hp using the test2.bin.

It then refused to idle and did all sorts of goofy ishy at part throttle. I made bitobin2.bin after a few hours spent studying TP and looking at other .bin files. It runs better but still needs work.

Thanks to anyone who wants to spend a few minutes looking at them and provide me with some insight.

I am going back to the dyno in a few weeks with a real cai hopefully and maybe an underdrive pulley. If I can confirm that they are in fact larger I will also install UK 10:1 cams.
