SBR FWD downpipe feeler **

We have been getting a ton of requests from the FWD guys that have turbo'ed their SR20's. So this is just a basic feeler for a SBR SR20 FWD downpipe. If we can get enough people ( about 20 or so ) we will bring one of you guys in and produce one. Let me know what you guys think. Thank you.

FWD SR20 downpipes are pretty easy to come by. If you could make a decent t25/28 J-pipe to replace the stock one, you'd have a lock on the market.

i was thinking the same thing. a divorced j pipe would be tits, maybe have it be a screamer type were it does not merge back into the j pipe but vents into the atmosphere.

Having another source for downpipes would be great as well... but it would take away from sales from the other sources like ___ and ___.

I would def purchase an aftermarket j-pipe... There are some ponies to be released in that restrictive ass thing. Otherwise I was going to see about getting it ported and polished.

Why would you port and polish a J pipe to the intercooler ? Are you refering to the O2 housing? Here is the link to the o2 housing we make for the DSM's. It would probably be similar to this if we made one.

Personally, I'm looking for a J pipe (o2 housing) to use with an externally wastegated manifold, so no need for a divorced segment on it. Just a nice mandrel bent piece with a 5 bolt flange on the turbo side, and a 3 bolt flange on the exhaust side to attach to the downpipe.

Probably remove the wastegate flapper, and put a divider between it and the exhaust wheel.

Strat,

with the second one you would remove your wastegate flap, and oem actuator and both the turbine hole and wastegate hole would be open...

EDIT: Chris Own't me Work own't me too... I forgot what my last sentence was gonna be

That last one is pretty crafty man... elimnates welding anything to the manifold... wow dude... those are really awesome, those

I don't see how it would flow much more gas than the stock wastegate since it's still flowing through the same hole in the turbo housing. But you get the benefits of dividing the wastegate gas from the exhaust gas. Add in the cost of the Tial, and it's allot of buck for I don't know how much bang.

Chris, Like when they say 38mm is that the actual size of the release orifice in the wastegate?

Here's a quick article...
http://72.14.205.104/search?q=cache:... nk&cd=6&gl=us

Since these would probably be used for t2 flanged turbo's (not too craz horsepower) I think the divorced + external wastegate idea is pretty cool... the only limit being the stock diameter of the wastegate hole... I wonder if we could bore that out to about 32mm... if its not gonna be used anyway you know?

When people buy the set up with the external wastegate they usually bore the hole out to about 34MM.

Well I'm interested... depending on price range, and availablity of small diameter wastegates with that flange... I think it would be pretty cool to incorporate.

edit: I see the prices via the sites given...
