go there and join. we talk a lot on there. most of the people don't like forums, so that's why it's so quiet. we are planning a mini-geekout right now, and i've love to see you come. post on there for more information. right now we are still working details out. it looks, right now, to be the second or third week of january up here. that's when brad (plains region serca honcho) has a open garage.
so all yous people in oklahoma, if you live in or near, what kind of motorsport activities are you in to, autoX, dragstrip, I myself haven't done much any of these but when my car is ready I would like to do some of both, so if you all would like to meet and or get together some time than let me know. also if you ever need help with a mod or anything let me know I am more than willing to help people that will help themselves. Later guys, Jason
I live over by Memorial & Portland. I run Solo 2 full time. Last year I ran in my non-SE-R Sentra. I only had my SE-R for the last event of the year. SCCA has two regions in Oklahoma: Oklahoma region and Northeast Oklahoma Region. Oklahoma region autocrosses here in the city at the OSU driving course down by Reno & Portland. Northeast Oklahoma region autocrosses at the old Tanger Outlet Mall parking lot in Stroud. Check the websites for next years schedules. They haven't been posted yet but will be eventually. Hope to see you out there. www.okscca.org www.neokla-scca.org
I'll try this atleast once, if I like it I'll make it a habbit. so once the schedules are up, and I'm ready to go, I'll let you know, and maybe you can introduce me to the autoX scene, wich one do you do more ne or hear in the city??? wich is better
The events in Stroud typically have better courses and more cars. I did all the events in both regions last year except when there were conflicting dates. This happened only twice. Once I picked Stroud cause that's where all my friends were going, and once I picked here cause they had free lunch...Anyway, when you're ready let me know, and I'll try to introduce you to it all.
I'm in Fayetteville, AR, but I have to get way out of town to participate in any events.
Track lapping at Hallett (a road course due West of Tulsa) is about the most fun you can have on four wheels without getting ridiculously expensive. I'm going to try and make some more of their "High Speed Touring" events once I upgrade to AD22VFs, maybe as early as late spring.
I intend to do a some more autocrossing, so I'll try to make some Stroud events. Post or e-mail me (JimR20@hotmail.com) when you guys plan to go out there. It's been a while, but anyone can ride with me anytime.
D'oh. Nix Stroud. John Joyce just told the NEOkla list that all future events there are off. The Tanger outlet owner recently decided that new buildings would make better use of the site than autocrosses.
We've heard that one before. That's the fourth NEOkla site lost in two years.
That's a reality of the sport. No sites, no autocrossing. You guys in OKC have Oklahoma region events. I'll probably go to Springfield, MO, or some of the Little Rock events if I want to autocross.
Best I've heard for NEOkla is a scramble to get Davis Field in Muskogee back. They had to suspend Davis Field events a couple of years ago due to hanger construction and the like, but if the airport would let us come back, that would be a great thing. Autocrosses there were run on a giant concrete tarmac, and it was one of the best sites in the entire division.
sweet driving on an air feild, hope that comes through, on a side note, don't know exactly how far it is from spring feild but I am in st louis missourri atleast twice during the summer, maybe they will have something there.
