Why not? I love the valley! It's DAMN hot in the summer, but there's plenty of places close by you can go cool off (lakes, river, etc.). Tons of stuff to do year round! I think you'll like it (as long as you can tolerate the heat).

There used to be a pretty good size group of us out here, but it's died down a bit (we had even started our own chapter of SERCA about 3 years ago - when the convention was held here in AZ). We're all still around, just doing different stuff now; I didn't even have an SR powered car (for the last 3 years) until just two months ago! Hit me up if you have any questions about anything...

BTW, if you're looking to buy a house out here (if your move is permanent), better start lookin' now! They're going quick right now!

Its a semi-temporary move. I'm moving there for a estimated 2-4 years, but I am planning on moving back up here as soon as appropriate... plans can change though
Lucky me.. already found a house.

If you can stand the heat, I think you'll like it here. Whereabouts is your house gonna be?

I don't mind the heat, its that sweating part that sucks...

The house is in the Laveen area, I'm pretty unfamiliar with the layout of the roads down there and I can't even tell you what its near but its there and its almost ready...

might be interesting if it's not ready... might be hitting up motel 6 for a few weeks

Ehh, as long as you have AC in your car, you'll be good Every building here has AC so don't "sweat it"

Southside, eh? Coo... I think that's close to Justin's pad (JustinP10).

I just thought of something, well, just thought of it again... but anyways...

How evil are the smog people in AZ? My car has OR plates and I plan to try and weasel my way into being able to keep them for as long as I can ( I will be attending OSU online.. and kinda be linked back to my 'rents in OR untill I finish school..., at least on my car insurance..) so I might be able to get away with keeping my Oregon license too.. but the car has been de-smogged and who wants to pay for registration when the tags are good for two more years

Thats what I am thinking... I remember when I went to WSU for a year there was more than one car in the lot with oregon, idaho, alaska, even california plates... and alot of them were people that lived there even during the summer... so wtf why shouldn't I be able to keep my plates?

Salem has no smog, at least not yet, so the car was built accordingly... and in two years when my tags go bad, all I have to do is send a check to the state and they will send me tags for another 2 years, no inspection...

What about the license though? I think its something like 30 days when you change residence... and I am, kinda, and it is permanent... kinda... I just don't want to get into an accident and have someone sue the sh*t out of me because my insurance company tells me to take a leap because I should have had a 'current or valid' license sort of deal.. (almost had that happen when I moved from OR to WA in 99, 35 days after I moved I got in an accident and the cop was like " go to the dmv, now, get a license, the date will be the same, and they can't do anything if you had a license on this date"

just covering my ass
