seek a reputable mechanic/shop in Fort Worth TX 76132 area

my fiance and i moved from El Paso TX to Fort Worth this past summer.
i knew my car wouldnt make the drive, so i had it towed here.
i know i need to replace my cv shaft-passenger side. and bushings. as i hear/feel scraping when driving over inclined entrances at an angle
i took my car to a local shop (kwik kar lube n tune @ 5021 Bryant Irving Rd; Fort Worth TX 76133 - as they are closest to home) about 2 weeks ago, and was quoted
as the following needing to be replaced:
page1 scanned: http://jammo.net/images/kwik_kar_lub...e1-resized.jpg
745x1024 @ 74.7Kb
page2 scanned: http://jammo.net/images/kwik_kar_lub...e2-resized.jpg
745x1024 @ 37.4Kb

i live in the area of Hulen Mall, which is South of I-20 & west of I-35W.
i work LITERALLY across the street, so i dont do much driving around town and dont know my way too well. but i can always Google Map any address provided.

sooo ... can some locals help me out? let me know where i can go?
the quoted price on the scanned quote is very steep.
the guy who checked out my SE-R told me that the prices is inaccurate.
he said that that would be the price if all parts came from the stealership.
so, naturally, im hoping i can get what parts i can online.

thanks in advance for the assistance.

BTW: its a 1992 SE-R with over 260,000 miles on the chassis.
over 50,000 miles on a JDM SR20 swapped in about 2.5 years ago.

I believe James Vick is in the Dallas area. That's his screen name on here, look him up. If he's not to busy, that's the guy to solve all of your problems.

Hmm..CV shaft huh..well, just go and place another order with Autozone, then let Vick know rather than sit and wait.
I think its about 135 or something. James could take a little while getting back at you, but be fair and paid the brother he is a busy beee.

The only reason I would buy autozone/O'reilys axles is for the lifetime replacement. That would come in handy.

The prices quoted are NOT all from a dealership. Axle assy's from dealers run over $900 each. And don't get me started on suspension parts (this is from my personal experience; others may be different). I don't live in the area, but it shouldn't be too hard to find a mechanic who will charge cost for the parts, plus labor. Hell, give me the $2000 and I'll do it for ya. I'll even knock off a few hundred 'cause I can't align it.

Seriously though, this stuff doesn't cost that much from autozone, and I think you can get the axles for less than $200.

id get a pair of raxle's and goto the junkyard for most of those other things. you could probably fix everything for pretty cheap if you get a fsm and diy. that stuff isnt too hard to replace.
