I think more than 20 over the limit makes you ineligible.

If you are eligible, DON'T take the online def. driving (tried it once ... got my money back after an hour of feeling like a monkey wired in a space capsule) or the take-home video one ... they take much longer and you actually have to pay ATTENTION. Take one with a free dinner at Grandy's or such and sleep or doodle in the back of the class.

I got nailed near El Paso for 10 over (really 20), paid it no contest thinking not much would happen and my insurance went up 200 a year!

You should be able to take it. If not ask to speak with a judge and ask him. Tell him some bs story and let him know that you will never do it again. Then proceed to do a tire shredding burnout right in the parkinglot.

What are you talking about? I took www.defensivedriver.com and it was easier than any other class I've been to (done the class twice). You can take the course over a period of time at your leisure, and if you fail the test at the end you just keep taking it until you pass it.

You have a certain amount of time per section..say 20 minutes. I would just scroll through the entire section to the very end and it would tell me to go back and review. So I'd just go browsing the net or do work and make sure to click on the site every now and then so it wouldn't log you out for being idle. I did the entire program while at work over the course of 3 or 4 days. The thing is such a joke.

i had a ticket for 65 in a 40 here in Plano and they wouldnt let me take defensive driving because its 25 over. Anything UNDER 25mph and they let u take it. So I had to do the deferred adjudication instead which is the easiest way out of a ticket as long as u dont get any tickets within ur deferred period (90 days).
